A PRICE ABOVE RUBIES: Who Is The Christian Woman SUPPOSED To Be? Often and frequently at the hands of our spiritual leaders, the lives of Christian wives and mothers are described within a limiting proscription that compels obedience, sacrifice, and unquestioned support of "the Adam of the household."Yet a true reading of Proverbs Chapter 31 reveals an active, productive businesswoman who oversees not only the affairs of her household, but engages in commerce and a multitude of other activities designed to provide for that household in ways so many times delineated as belonging exclusively to the husband and father. This Saturday afternoon we will engage in a lively and challenging discussion of the true role of the woman who is "a price above rubies" and theorize based on our own experiences within the church, why this particular description of the Christian woman is not widely discussed or taught within typical church dogma. Join us!!! Liberation and empowerment is always and should be the result of actively engaging with Scripture!!! |
