Short+Sweet has developed since 2002 from an independent 10-minute play festival in Newtown, Australia to an internationally recognised brand with partners and festivals around the world. Currently spanning the artistic platforms of theatre, cabaret, musical theatre, and dance, Short+Sweet provides audiences with brilliant snapshots of creative work, priding itself on the development of emerging artists and new work through its consistent format of 10-minute performance.
Now in its 14th year, Short+Sweet hosts annual festivals across Australia and international locations spanning from Auckland to Penang to Dubai. Short + Sweet now invites you to take part in our latest endeavour - a festival aimed at showcasing and developing the extraordinary vocal talent. As in all Short+Sweet Festivals – the time limit of 10 minutes (or less) is non-negotiable. Beyond that we try to keep the rules to the bare minimum and strongly encourage creativity and imagination in performance and presentation. All performances will be presented at The Junction in Alserkal Avenue in a series of heats culminating in a Gala Finale.
