Some scenes just "happen." Most good scenes require some planning a preparation along with negotiation. Setting the Scene focuses on each of the five senses and energy as a way to change the experience of a play session. This course incorporates discussion and demonstrations to illustrate how even small changes in lighting, sound, smell, temperature, and other factors can drastically change the experience. Participants will have an opportunity for discussion and receive a copy of Auntie Vice's kink book "Love Letters to a Unicorn."

Rebecca Blanton was an academic and an appointed official for the State of California through 2014. She left this line of work to become an independent writer and performance artist. Much of her work focuses on the intersectionality of feminism, race, gender identities, class and kink. She maintains a kink blog loveletterstoaunicorn.com and is working on her second non-academic publication about fringe sexualities. She works as a BDSM burlesque dancer and a stand-up comic as well.
