By Jack Feldstein With songs by Rivky Directed by Jack Feldstein Musical Director: David Seamon Rivky didn't know she could create songs until she sat at a piano one day and did. Without being taught. Kinda like Mozart. To give you an idea of the brilliance of her music, here's Rivky playing and singing her song...Hear Me, Mr Honey. https://soundcloud.com/rivkygee/hear-me-mr-honey Jack Feldstein Jack Feldstein is a playwright and neon animation filmmaker and director. Originally from Australia and a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in playwriting, he now lives in New York City. His playscripts "A House Like Any Other" and "Three Months with Pook" have won prizes in Australia and in Britain with the BBC International Radioplay Writing Competition. Jack's plays have been staged with productions in Australia and New York. He is an artist member of the Workshop Theater in Midtown 312 W36th Street, where he develops his plays. He now lives in New York City and his philosophy is "search for an interesting life". For more information please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Feldstein Rivky Rivky decided to write a song. Then performed it Off-Broadway. Where she also happened to meet a very, very tall and talented Cellist, Brian Sanders. In a simple twist of fate the course of their lives were altered, releasing an Album-EP, Angel Sings The Blues. Bringing them onto various stages like, The Kennedy Center and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet in NYC featuring, Suzanne Vega. Rivky's latest demo was produced by Amy Lee from the band Evanescence: https://soundcloud.com/rivkygee/hear-me-mr-honey Beneath The Greenless Garden, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qC2N2wEqLyQ Twenty three songs later Rivky's journey continues to be quite an unusual one. A story filled with maddening difficulty and unremarkable inspiration. Raised in the Hasidic section of Brooklyn, Rivky's music combines unique beat structure, a Jazzy, Caba-rocker style and influences from her Jewish upbringing. Often compared to Jacques Brel, Billy Joel, Freddy Mercury, David Bowie, Laura Nyro, Sinead O'Connor and Regina Spektor. Tip-toeing music's underground with no piano or vocal training, Rivky quietly writes. After years of solitude inside her artwork she's decided to color melody, discovering a grand piano to paint near instead. She cleverly breathes out her own intricately playful syncopation, breaking up genre, stage and violating rhythm's boundaries. Rivky's work has grabbed the attention of Aussie Director and Writer, Jack Feldstein. Rivky essentially enjoys seeing her work come to life through other performers, theater and film, while periodically taking the stage herself. When Rivky isn't singing, she's cooking. A lot. Currently, Pistachio Bourbon Butter and a reinvention of the Matzoh Ball "Curriyaki" Dumpling. Yes it's as good as it sounds... “I am drawn to Rivky by her raw talent. What I love about her as an artist is the strength in her vulnerability- absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to hear more from her!” -Amy Lee, Evanescence “A powerful, powerful singer. Capable of reaching notes too high and low for most -and capable of hitting them with emotion.” -Howard Bloom, Former publicist for Billy Joel Items Not Allowed
