Inspired by his father's love of music, Philip "Spanky" Manaois began playing piano at age 5 using the Suzuki method. He progressed quickly, and his teachers and family soon learned that he had a special gift when it came to music. Spanky's classical training and experience in musical arts continued throughout his school years and through college. At 21, Philip auditioned at a piano bar at Disney World and was quickly given the job - and the nickname that has stuck with him. Spanky has been playing "dueling" pianos all over the world for over 20 years - from Missouri to Colorado, Disney World to St. Louis Cardinals' Busch Stadium, Jamaica to Amsterdam. Recently, when Harrah's Casion opened a piano bar, they consulted Spanky for his expertise. For over 10 years, he's been assembling a group of the best entertainers in the industry to bring Spanky Entertainment's Dueling Pianos to wedding receptions, fundraisers, chambers of commerce, corporate events, major and minor league ballparks, and private parties throughout the country. While he continues to grow Spanky Entertainment, he teaches a handful of private piano students, and plays in 4 different bands. He lives in St. Louis with his wife and 2 children.

The other half of our dueling pianists is Bill Romer. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Bill Romer has been playing piano for over 45 years, first learning to sight-read with his mother's help, then playing for church services, and joining a rock band when he moved to St. Louis 30 years ago. After studying theory and improvisation with a private teacher, he began playing jazz piano for solo, small ensemble and big band engagements around St. Louis. He met Theresa, his wife of 20+ years when she joined his wedding reception band as a lead vocalist, and they continue to play and sing together whenever possible. For the past 8+ years, he has been a "dueling" piano player with Spanky Entertainment, performing throughout the Midwest at piano bars, wedding receptions, fundraisers, corporate parties, minor league ballparks, country clubs, and conventions. An aerospace engineering career originally brought Bill to St. Louis, but his love of music and entertaining people - and the continued success of Spanky Entertainment Dueling Pianos - convinced him to make playing the piano his full-time career for the last several years. Bill lives in St. Louis with his wife and 4 children
