Garry Novikoff returns to the Duplex in a birthday show featuring new material and old favorites. Garry is a genre-bending, multi-award winning singer/songwriter whose songs have been heard on radio stations across the country. Time Out New York calls his CD A Normal Life “a catchy – and more importantly funny – collection of pop songs.” Not long ago The Duplex Theater mounted “Take A Number: The Songs Of Garry Novikoff,” a revue of his material directed by Lisa Moss, leading to his first MAC Award nomination. He is a recipient of the ASCAP Foundation Joe Raposo Award for his children’s music. His marriage equality dance anthem “It’s Our Time” earned him two Outmusic Award nominations: Single of the Year, and Humanitarian Songwriter Of The Year. Garry had the great honor of being nominated for a TONY Award for his work as a musical theater educator in the New York City school system. His experimental chamber rock band Angels In The Chamber are poised for their first CD release and he is currently at work on his second solo CD. Among his special guests on August 3rd will be multi-instrumentalist Joseph Anthony Shireman.
