Join Magdalena and the band for a night of live music to start your Saturday night off with good vibes! The lead vocalist, Magdalena Papayianni, will sing her heart out covering hit songs along with amazing original songs. Her band, John Deola as backup vocals/bass guitar and Thomas Peruggia on the guitar will lift your spirits for your summer weekend!
A proud Greek-American raised in Brooklyn, NY, Magdalena officially began her musical career in the Spring of 2001 at the age of 8, when her mother enrolled her in the Archdiocesan Youth Choir, the same year it was established. Since then, Magdalena has performed with the choir as a Soloist and Touring Artist, and has performed in esteemed venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Presidential Palace of Cyprus, Lincoln Center, and the White House. Her voice has entertained many distinguished people, including several United States Presidents, diplomats, religious leaders. With a classical foundation, she began professional opera training at age 15, and later immersed herself in musical theatre.
Although very driven and confident in her musical aspirations over the years, like many others, Magdalena has had her share of personal challenges, which at times got the best of her. Having faced and conquered these personal challenges, Magdalena had a revelation; to use her unfortunate experiences as a means to fuel her passion and help others in the process. She aims to be a “Voice of Hope”. Overall, she has grown to appreciate all types of music from around the world. Her wish is to not only produce music in all genres, but to produce mixed-genre music with influences from musical styles like the Blues, Reggae, 90s pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Greek and classical music. Her goal as artist is creating art that can be used as a form of therapy and as a vessel for unity.
