Commemorating 70 Years of Al Nakba Standing for the Future: The Struggle for Palestine Continues 2018 is the 70th anniversary of Al Nakba, the catastrophe of 1948 when 90% of the population of Palestine lost their homes and land. The Commemoration begins with a buffet dinner at 5:OO PM followed by the program at 6:00 PM. The program includes a presentation of Palestinian folkloric dance by the Sa'id Music and Dance Group, viewing of the video The Sun is Due to Rise produced by the Badil Resource Center, and a keynote address by Sherene Seikaly, Associate Professor of History at UC Santa Barbara. On line ticket sales close at 10:00 AM on May 12. Tickets will be on sale at the door while they last.  |
