An afternoon of Cabaret featuring June Kamerling sharing some of her older and newer faves with you. Songs from Broadway shows, movies, popular songs, funny, and very sappy songs that have woven and carried June through life growing up in Queens and Long Beach NY to her current life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
June Kamerling, born in Borough Park Brooklyn, grew up in Little Neck Queens and Long Beach Long Island. Though June was never IN musical theater she has always to this day, loved singing the songs as well as being an audience member.
Today June lives in Richmond, California where she and her husband, Dana Meyer, sing with the Berkeley Broadway Singers chorus, and are regulars at “Curtain Call” open mic at Society Cabaret at Hotel Rex in downtown San Francisco. June has had two solo Cabaret shows at Society Cabaret and is thrilled to be performing in her first solo show in NYC. For the past 16 summers, June has attended Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival in Fairbanks, Alaska where she takes Cabaret classes with NY’s Ron Drotos (this show's accompanist and director) and Jazz classes with the great Greta Matassa.
June thanks her older son Aidan Meyer for choosing to go to college in NYC, and to both Aidan and her younger son Kobi for all the eye rolling when they were growing up when June and Dana would break into song in the middle of a conversation. This let her know she was on the right track.
