Embodied Spaces II: a choreography festival is a five day choreography festival. roxy + company presents their work alongside a different featured artist each night.
November 8th features work from Lu Shirley Dai: Shirley was born and raised in China. She received her B.A. from Barnard College and is currently getting her MFA in Dance at Sarah Lawrence College. Shirley is actively making work that explores the interaction among dance, visual art and media. Her work explores the idea of contemporaneity-the meaning of the term, the time and space it indicates and the context it resides in. As a Chinese woman living in New York City, her sense of contemporaneity not only relies on the living context but also is influenced by personal and public history, ethnic and cultural identity. Embodied Spaces II: a choreography festival is from November 7-11, 2018 Show starts at 8pm doors open at 7:15 performance ends at 9:00pm followed by a moderated discussion with wine! |
