“Austin five-piece Holy Wave is certainly dreamy in a sense, but theirs is the kind of dream that’s more vivid than blurry, more present than passing.” - Consequence of Sound “They've got the far-off, dreamy vocal wash of the shoegazers, but their guitars and hooks are anything but subtle” - Pitchfork - - - Holy Wave is a band of multi-instrumentalists from El Paso, Texas, USA. Since making a move to Austin in 2008, they have cemented themselves as a unique force in the national and international touring circuit. After perennial performances at Levitation (Austin Psych Fest) and countless tours and festival appearances in the USA, Europe and Latin America, Holy Wave is poised to continue expanding into new spaces and places around the world. The band has 3 LPs and 3 EPs (The Reverberation Appreciation Society, Burger Records, Volante Discos) under their belt. Holy Wave’s debut 2014 album ‘Relax’ put the band on the map internationally and was well received by critics, including Pitchfork and Paste Magazine. ‘Relax’ was followed by ‘Freaks of Nurture’ in 2016, which showed great evolution in composition and melody, and showed glimpses that Holy Wave was finding a style and sound all their own. The record received great praise from the likes of Consequence of Sound, and Glide Magazine. Holy Wave’s newest record ‘Adult Fear’ was released March 30 via The Reverberation Appreciation Society. The record saw the Austin quintet forging deeper into hazy synths and expansive melodies, coalescing the their myriad of influences into a signature sound. In an article on Southern Sounding, Josh Pickard explains that, “There's a maturity and earned confidence here that allows them to develop and expand the psych and surf sounds of their last records.” In support of ‘Adult Fear’, Holy Wave toured the USA, Europe and Latin America extensively in 2018. Currently, Holy Wave is in the studio and they are planning to release their 4th LP in the fall of 2019. Items Not Allowed
