Description
It is the 50th anniversary of the death of the "World's Greatest Entertainer" Judy Garland at the age of 47. It is also the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall rebellion and the start of the gay liberation movement. These two events are directly linked through the funeral of Judy Garland in NYC. The show covers Judy's life from her days in vaudeville, through her movies at MGM, and her historic concert comebacks. Get Happy! The Judy Garland Story is performed over two acts and includes over 10 iconic costumes, over 20 songs, and uses Judy's own words and the words of those who knew and loved her. This show is a celebration of Judy Garland and will put to rest that she had a tragic life. It will also prove that a diva NEVER dies. Peter Mac is both critically acclaimed and award-winning for his portrayal of Judy Garland, where he both sings and speaks live as the woman Tony Bennett called the "World's Greatest Entertainer." |
