A broke puppeteer returns to Maine for Christmas and gets caught up in a treasure hunt with her paintball-obsessed best friend, her tango-dancing grandmother, and a childhood sweetheart. HOLLY STAR is a celebration of the holiday season, coming home, and old flames. HOLLY STAR tells the story of Sloan Kelly, who returns to her small hometown in Maine after losing a dream job in New York City. She ventures out only to reconnect with her salty grandmother and her slightly nutty, paintball-obsessed best friend Kay K. Desperately in need of some holiday spending money, Sloan takes a job selling Christmas trees with her childhood sweetheart Andy. One fateful day, Sloan slips on the ice into the path of an oncoming truck. Her entire life flashes before her eyes, and she remembers a night long ago when her grandfather – dressed as Santa Claus – buried a canvas sack somewhere in the middle of town. And she remembers, too, what was in the sack – cash, lots and lots of cash. Where did the money come from? Why did her grandfather bury it? And, most importantly, where is it now? Thus begins a comedic treasure hunt as Sloan searches for clues to the cold Christmas cash. Additional Information
