The works of J. S. Bach mark the pinacle of the baroque style, reaching spiritual heights rarely equaled.  His sons were the leading composers of the next generation.  Second eldest son, Carl Philip Emanuel, applied the principals of rhetoric and drama to musical structure.  Youngest son Johann Christian was a leading composer in London.  P. D. Q.
