The Maine Washing Wench Show The Great Unwashed Sherrif Bracken Trial & Dunk Description
The Maine Renaissance Faire brings together actors, artisans, history buffs, and fantasy lovers in a two weekend event packed with performances, food, and fun. The setting is the Village of Yorkshire in the year 1571. Visitors will be welcomed at the Opening Gate ceremony by Queen Elizabeth I and her court along with a bevy of raucous villagers. Melanie Fuller, owner of Dragon Star Creations and organizer of the event, said “we felt that the community was missing an event like this. It is a wonderful opportunity to bring folks together for two days of fun and fantasy. We are thrilled to be bringing back this annual tradition.”
Faire goers will be entertained by a unique schedule of performances including aerial acrobatics, jousting, live steel combat, comedy shows, belly dancing, Celtic and medieval music, and more. Fan favorites include the jousting tournament presented by RoundTable Productions and live steel combat provided by the Brotherhood of the Arrow and Sword. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Penniless Jacks, Misfits of Avalon, Myschyffe Managed, Shank Painters and the King’s Busketeers including traditional Celtic ballads, Medieval and Renaissance madrigals, and rousing pub tunes.
For those who love to laugh, there will be entertainment by the hilarious Maine Washing Wenches, the Gwendolyn Show, and Shakespeare Approves.
