7/24: diverse group of students 8/7: "Institutional Challenges" Description
As we get ready to return to campus in the Fall, CHERE is unrolling a new series of VIRTUAL CONFERENCES called ZOOM IN ON HIGHER ED! This first CHERE Virtual
Conference Series is called Student Voices and will
feature students from different campuses (one of CHERE's specialties), discussing how they feel about going
back to campus, the pros and cons of online learning, how Black Lives Matter
and the national reaction to George Floyd’s murder may affect campus life and
other issues. Please join us Friday, July 24 from 10 to 12.
We are charging a modest fee of $45 to cover expenses, including stipends for
our students. Students registering for this Zoom conference are free -- no fee. Our second ZOOM
IN! Conference will focus on the Institutional
Challenges we face as we work to reopen (safety issues with
on-campus, off-campus and commuter students, how to get permanent value from
on-line learning, the changing role of faculty and staff in this “new normal”). Senior staff from several different types of colleges and universities will give us their best thinking about the challenges ahead from Cv-19, Black Lives Matter issues, and more. Join us on Friday, August 7 from 10 to 12. Again the registration fee will be $45. However, if you choose to “attend” both conferences, the package price will be $80. |
