THE IMPRESARIO Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart English lyrics by Dory Previn
In 1786 emperor Joseph II pitted Mozart’s sung and spoken singspiel against a new Italian opera by Antonio Salieri, each performed at opposing ends of the Orangerie at the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna. Fitting it is, then, that this short comic opera deals with two rivaling divas and one cash-strapped producer trying to help everyone get along for the sake of art.
Suitable for all audiences.
Performers will be in masks with social distancing.
Audience members are invited to our Virtual Stage Door to meet and greet the cast immediately following the performance at https://asu.zoom.us/j/83080843547.
