2021 Graduation Guidance and Safety Protocols

To protect the entire Anaheim Union High School community while celebrating the momentous milestone of graduation, it is imperative that all attendees of the AUHSD ceremonies adhere to the graduation health and safety protocols at all times while at Handel Stadium.

Individual Control Measures

• All attendees of any AUHSD Graduation must wear masks at all times, as per CDPH Face Coverings Guidance indoors and outdoors while entering, seated, and exiting the venue.

• Anyone not adhering to the face covering policy will be asked to comply or leave.

• Attendance is limited to school staff, graduates, and two family member guests.

• Guests must sign up in advance of the graduation and only those who have pre registered may attend.

• Each guest may bring one (1) plastic water bottle (not frozen), one liter (1L) or smaller in size. No food will be permitted.

Screenings

• All attendees must screen for temperatures and symptoms at home before leaving for the ceremony. 

• Individuals who are feeling ill with symptoms of COVID-19 or have been potentially exposed to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 should refrain from attending.

• High-risk individuals are highly discouraged from attending for their added protection and encouraged to view the ceremony via live-stream. 

Physical Distancing

• Guests who are not part of the same household must maintain physical distance from others while entering, seated, and exiting the venue.

• The two guests of each graduate will be seated together in marked and assigned “pod or couple” spaces. 

• Each pod will be physically distanced from the next pod.  

Other Health and Safety Measures

• Handel Stadium has implemented several enhanced cleaning protocols:

  • Event personnel and housekeeping staff will clean and disinfect in accordance with CDC guidelines.

  • More than 25 hands-free sanitizing stations will be strategically located throughout the stadium.

  • Restrooms and high touch areas will be disinfected several times throughout the ceremonies.

• All attendees must avoid social congregation before, during, and after the event. Side events will not be provided/allowed (gaming/selfie areas, tailgating, and food cart/truck areas) to reduce the areas in which groups gather, whether formally or informally.

By attending an AUHSD graduation, guests agree to adhere to the Anaheim Union High School District 2021 Graduation Guidance and Safety Protocols above and understand that not all hazards or risks related to injury or illness can be fully eliminated, which include exposure to COVID-19.
