Gryphon Trio Description
For over 25 years, the 2019 Juno Award-winning ensemble Gryphon Trio has firmly established itself as one of the world’s preeminent piano trios, garnering acclaim and impressing international audiences with its highly refined, dynamic, and memorable performances. With a repertoire that ranges from traditional to contemporary and from European classicism to modern-day multimedia, the Gryphons are committed to redefining chamber music for the 21st century. Dubbed “Canada's preeminent clarinetist and wind soloist” by the Toronto Star, James Campbell has performed as soloist and chamber musician in over 35 countries with over 60 orchestras. In this program of French Music, Campbell joins the Gryphon Trio in a program that covers French music from the romantic stylings of Francis Poulenc, culminating in a performance of Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time, considered to be one of the most important chamber works of the 20th Century. |
