Description
Area festivals, conventions, and clubs send representatives to join in the fun as well as promote their events. The traditional appearance by the Apple Blossom Queen and her Court is a special treat for the dancers. The Rivermont Ramblers of Front Royal and the Panhandlers of Martinsburg, West Virginia co-host, promote, and decorate for the dance.
The callers for the dance are Matt Worley from Virginia Beach and Elbert Harrison from North Carolina. They bring their own distinctive and innovative style of square-dance calling. Matt has called at many national conventions as well as overseas. Butch and Roberta Bloxom are a round-dance team who create a beautiful flow of choreographed ballroom style of dancing that is popular nationwide. When the Queen and her Court appear at the dance, they are treated to a special set of square-dance calls designed for new dancers. They become part of the fun and energy that is showcased at this event. This is a plus level with announced mainstream dance designed to make certain that everyone has a good time. The dance begins with pre-rounds from 7 until 8 p.m. followed by 2x2’s from 8 until 10:30p.m. The dance ends with an all-singing call diehard from 10:30 until 11 p.m. Items Not Allowed
