A group who kick-started the 80’s, their seminal album, ‘The Lexicon Of Love’ in 1982 crashed straight into the album charts at number 1. Showcasing hit songs, ‘Tears Are Not Enough’, ‘Poison Arrow’, ‘The Look Of Love’ and ‘All Of My Heart, they were a ground-breaking collection of modern love songs. With a majestic production from the legendary Trevor Horn, it remains a classic to this day and has been voted by many as the best British album of its decade. Their second album, ‘Beauty Stab was a different proposition and spawned the hits ‘That Was Then But This Is Now’ and ‘SOS’ and in 1984 they followed up with ‘How To Be A Zillionaire’. By 1987 their worldwide hit ‘When Smokey Sings’ powered its way to the top of the American charts. |
