Join the WSO for the final concert of our 21-22 season, Triumph! The April 9th concert closes the season in full force with the largest orchestra of the season and two very special guests. We open with the winners of the WSO’s Young Artist Competition, who competed in January 2022 against high school and college musicians from across Wyoming. Cooper Kaligis, our high school winner from Laramie, WY will perform Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E Minor, while college winner Alexis DePaolo from Casper will perform Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 2 in D Major. The season will conclude with a rousing performance of Pictures and an Exhibition, which Modest Mussorgsky wrote as a series of short pieces for piano in memoriam of his friend artist Viktor Hartmann. Maurice Ravel’s 1922 orchestral arrangement of Pictures is full of orchestral color and the perfect way to end a successful season.
