Strange Love - Depeche Mode Tribute Description
"I've been waiting two years to play on this stage with these guys." It was July 21, 2012, and Xiren was addressing a packed house from the Hangar stage at the Orange County Fair. It was a breathtakingly humble statement from a man who, before he had joined the Joshua Tree, was already a successful recording artist in his own right, his music having been heard on television and major radio markets. But it had indeed been two years ago that he had come to see the Joshua Tree play to a similarly packed house on this same Hangar stage, shortly after auditioning and being accepted as Joshua Tree's new singer. He was coming to a band with years of experience under its belt, having been started in 2003 by guitarist Chas Alm, who back then had a deep love of U2 and a few effects pedals. Times had certainly changed since their first small show in a church, drummer Michael Knutson surrounded by potted plants. Michael had been a constant sight on the L.A. club scene in his youth; he had been a member of a band that was signed to a recording contract and appeared on a major TV show. Howard "Bob Knarley" Ulayte, a veteran musician with a thunderous bass sound that was previously heard in Dread Zeppelin, rounds out the lineup. All 4 band member strive to bring an authentic "U2 experience" to every show, including sound, gear, and wardrobe. The Joshua Tree has played community events, corporate events, private events and more, and has delighted fans from here in Southern California to as far away as Alaska, Mexico and Pennsylvania. They hope to see you at a show soon, and share their love of U2 with you! Items Not Allowed
