Description
Gadsden State Theatre is committed to providing show options that educate not only theatre students in our department but also the area high schools and community at large. It is for this reason that we are launching our “Novel Series” designed to stage classical works and newer shows based on classical literature. The 2022-23 season will include two entries in this series, The Great Gatsby and Taming of the Shrew. We hope that these offerings will draw more attention to the theatre arts and enrich the education of our area’s primary and secondary schools. - Mr. Joseph F. Fuselli, M.F.A. Gadsden State Community College Theatre Instructor
The Great Gatsby originally published in 1925, has stood the tests of time by persistently being ranked in the top 10 books for young readers in an ever-evolving world. This story has come to be thought of as a fundamental story that incapsulates the American dream and presents it in a way that is entertaining to readers of all ages. This story, and its language, has remained my heart since reading it in high school. I am excited to bring this amazing story to life and be able to elucidate F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ideals and concepts to a new generation of young minds. - Mr. Gregory Heathcock Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center Theatre Manager |
