In this world, as in all fairy tales, the characters aren’t completely happy and wish for their own happy-ever-after. The Baker and Baker’s Wife wish for a family of their own, Jack wishes for friends and enough money to support his Mother and Milky White - his beloved cow, Little Red Riding Hood wishes to be taken seriously and to experience life off the path to Granny’s house, the Witch wishes to have her beauty back, and those charming Princes wish for true love and adventure. The answer to all of their wishes lies within the mysterious world of The Woods. Along the path lie wolves, witches, mysterious men, and giants. Will they succeed? Do they have the strength and a strong enough desire to do what it takes to achieve their dreams? And, when they do, will they be able to confront the question, “What happens when you get everything you dreamed of?”
Into the Woods is classic American Musical Theatre, written by the legendary, Tony-Award winning, Stephen Sondheim. Every song feels like a classic. Every character is rich and well-rounded. Every word matters - and boy are there so many words. This difficult and demanding script has been in the top 10 musicals produced in high schools since the turn of the millennium, achieving the title of the second most-produced high school musical of the 2010’s decade.
