Description
Romeo & Juliet is a timeless classic that tells a passionate story of young love fueled by a division between warring families. The play is filled with some of Shakespeare’s most iconic characters, stunning poetry, and enthralling scenes of love and violence. SDSCPA’s modern day telling will set this famous love story in a world of rebellion and divisiveness. Sound familiar? The contemporary music, sets, and costumes will fill the atmosphere with a punk rock, anti-establishment tone, fueling the turmoil and tension of our young characters moving though a world where the only power they have is to reject what has come before. Using this story from the past, we hope to “hold the mirror up to nature” and demonstrate why these 400+ year old plays are still very relevant and necessary today. Items Not Allowed
