DJ Kiran and DJ Tamim Description
Tompkins Hindu Student Association is celebrating its third annual Raas Ratri at Jordan High School. This event is a student organized event. Raas Ratri (or Garba) is a night of energetic and playful dancing that originates from Guajarati folk dancing and commemorates the festival Navaratri. Generally attendants will wear bright and colorful lehengas or kurtis (Indian traditional wear). Additionally, Dandiya Sticks are a large part of this dance and create a rhythmic beat, so make sure to bring Dandiya sticks to join in on the fun! Food and Drink Vendors will be present at this event, try to bring cash for transactions but card will also be accepted! DJ, live Dhol, and Photo booth will be present at this event! Please make sure to be respectful of all religious and cultural aspects of the event (respecting idols, removing shoes, and appropriate clothing) as Raas Ratri celebrates the Hindu festival of Navaratri. Items Not Allowed
-No outside food is permitted.
-NO illegal substances are permitted. This includes alcohol, drugs, vapes, cigarettes, etc.
-No short dresses (e.g. homecoming dresses) or exposing clothing.
-Bag policy:
-Larger bags MUST be clear and all bags are subject to search if deemed necessary.
-Non-transparent bags are limited to 6” x 9” x 5”.
-Shoes are NOT permitted inside of the cafeteria and must be removed before entering.
