Description
This Open Rehearsal is a window into the development of M. Lamar’s yet untitled but so called (Transatlantic Spacecraft). This experimental song cycle features a libretto that weaves a narrative of radical becoming and transfiguration as it blurs ancient Egyptian mythology with astrophysics in what Lamar is calling a post human and ancient sci fi aching. This piece is also a prequel to Lordship and Bondage:The Birth of The Negro Superman which had its world premiere performance at The Cloisters at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Like Lordship and bondage the music for Transatlantic spacecraft will be composed and performed with The Living Earth Show. Lamar is working again with Tucker Culbetson in forming the libretto, The live video mixing, animation and art design will once again be handled by long time collaborator Sabin Calvert.
