Description
In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Laboratory Theater of Florida is holding a community event called Remember at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29. This program is designed to share the feelings and experiences of the victims who lost their lives, their families, and trust in humanity. Guests will have the opportunity for a deeper awareness of the importance of honoring the memories of those murdered, as well as the need to educate each new generation to help prevent another Holocaust from happening again. The program will be a series of songs, instrumental music, and include readings written by and based on Holocaust victims. The program will include Holocaust survivors Peter Seminauer and Carla Beninga; Dr. Robert Hilliard, a WWII liberator; Sunny Lubner, a celebrated community and human rights activist who lost family members during the Holocaust; and Logan Hepner, an Israel Defense officer, each sharing their personal stories. Musicians include Chuck and Diane Coffman, pianist Bella Gutstein, and violinist Boris Sandler. “As each year passes, we lose more Holocaust survivors and their voices detailing the loss and horror caused by sheer hatred and fear,” said Ella Nayor, Holocaust and Human Rights Outreach Director at the Laboratory Theater of Florida. “This loss creates the need and necessity for inspiring and compelling Holocaust programming and education. Remember answers this need through stirring music and song and heart-tugging readings and stories by Holocaust survivors, other community members, and clergy.” Join us for a night of unity and connection on Monday, January 29th at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now for $10, and donations will be collected for the Lab’s Holocaust and Human Rights Education to further the work of human rights education in our community. Items Not Allowed
The Lab offers a variety of concessions but does not allow outside food or drink in the venue. Thank you for your understanding.
