For the
third time in twenty-five years, we are proud to host this brilliant
German-American Duo in a rare concert appearance, featuring sonatas by
Beethoven, Janacek, and Franck.
Bernhard Hartog is the distinguished long-time concertmaster of the German
Symphony Orchestra Berlin. He has
played as soloist under conductors such as Ashkenazy, Chailly and Nagano. Sevimbike Elibay, a New Yorker of Tatar
descent and a Juilliard graduate, has won several national and international
prizes and is a prominent solo pianist and dedicated chamber musician. Together, they have performed in
Germany, across Europe, into Asia, and in the US. In 2003 they gave their highly acclaimed Carnegie Hall
debut.
