Description
Distinguished by its virtuosity, probing musical insight, and impassioned, fiery performances, the Ariel Quartet has garnered critical praise worldwide for more than twenty years. The Quartet serves as the Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, where they direct the chamber music program and present a concert series in addition to maintaining a busy touring schedule in the United States and abroad. On this Mother's Day, they will present a program of works by Maurice Ravel and Robert Schumann. The performance will close with Schumann’s String Quartet in A Major, op. 41, No. 3, which features what has come to be known as the “Clara motif,” named for his wife and the mother of their eight children. Free traditional French madeleine cookies from Donsuemor will be available to all! This performance is sponsored in part by a community event grant from Otsego County Tourism |
