Dr. Sarah Lipson, Boston University Description
A big subject that we’ll examine – Issues and Responses atmany schools. Dr. Sarah Lipson from the Boston University School of Public Health and Lead investigator for the Healthy Minds Network national survey, that includes most colleges and universities in the country, will summarize the survey's findings -- issues and strategies -- and respond to questions. Representatives from several Connecticut schools will respond and talk about how their campuses are responding; and the lead mental health expert from the Connecticut Community College system office, will talk about how the 12 community colleges and 4 state universities are addressing this issue. A student panel, a regular feature of CHERE conferences, will provide an "on-the-ground" student perspective. Afternoon workshops will detail 3 Connecticuit campus programs that encompass mental health issues, and one workshop will look at how faculty and staff can better practice "self-care" to enhance their own mental health. |
