Description

The four sections of this concert represent four disparate moments in political history, and from many cultures. In common is the use of singing for political purposes. The four sections are 1) the ‘Singing Revolution’ in the Baltic countries; 2) the Revolutionary War in the United States: 3) the Holocaust where music provided comfort; 4) Civil Rights movement (1954-1968) in the United States.
