The stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, and… aliens? When a world-renowned author inherits his recently deceased wife’s cottage on an island in Maine, all Raphael wants to do is sell it and move on. But strange things start happening, and for Raphael to accept his future as a widower, he may first need to accept that he’s not as alone as he believes.

43 Degrees North was shot entirely in Maine with local actors, including Derek Kingsley in the role of Raphael; you may have seen Derek on the City Theater stage in "The Rocky Horror Show" (as Dr. Frank-N-Furter), "Sweet Charity" (as Daddy Brubeck), "Sylvia" (as Tom/Phyllis/Leslie), and our last two Pride Concerts.  Funded through individual donations and volunteers, it was designed to bring people together and drive interest in community filmmaking. For the first time in a movie, the Calendar Islands were brought together as a singular community.
