Description
One show. Two artists. An exploration of identity and what it means to be seen. Emerging Artists I presents original choreographic work by third-year dance graduate students JP Alejandro and Brandon Lombardo. Please note: There is some audience participation in each piece. In the first half of the show, Lombardo's "Lolita vs. Brandon: Party of One" explores the themes of family/chosen family, queerness and identity. This personal, vulnerable piece is filled with self-exploration and comedy. Content warning: Contains strong language and some undressing. The second half of the show features the work of Alejandro. In "Balikbayan," this dance theater performance examines Filipinx American identity and navigates the complexities of what it means to belong. Content warning: Contains themes of trauma, violence and hate crimes. All ticket sales are ONLINE ONLY. Please purchase tickets in advance. Guests who do not have a ticket at the door will be directed to purchase a ticket online. Ticket service fees apply to every purchase.
