IATI THEATER PRESENTS PAM 2024: PERFORMING ARTS MARATHON "VERSE AND VISION: Poetic Landscapes in Multimedia" Verse and Vision: Poetic Landscapes in Multimedia is an immersive experience where poetry meets cutting-edge multimedia. Three visionary poets push the boundaries of language and identity through performances that fuse video, sound, and technology. Featuring:
In this groundbreaking performance, Marcos de la Fuente engages in a live dialogue with an AI-powered digital twin, exploring the evolving relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence. Accompanied by electronic music and real-time visual projections, this performance questions the role of technology in art and literature, presenting a continually evolving spectacle as the AI learns and adapts with each show. Marcos dons a specially designed outfit by La Canalla Ethical Clothes, adding a tactile element to this cutting-edge exploration of poetry in the digital age. Eric Barenboim - Probe 0010 Set in a post-human world, "Probe 0010" follows the journey of a data-collecting probe as it traverses the remnants of Latin America. As the probe struggles with the obsolescence of its mission, it begins to develop something akin to consciousness—a miraculous emergence of language and memory. This performance is a poignant meditation on the persistence of humanity through language and technology, even in a world where humans no longer exist. Natasha Tiniacos and Ulises Hadjis - Hypoxia In "Hypoxia," poet Natasha Tiniacos and musician Ulises Hadjis collaborate in a bilingual, multi-sensory performance that delves into the deep connections between music and poetry. Through video, sound, and live performance, they explore the lost art of Homeric chant—a bridge between the spoken and the sung word. Presented in both English and Spanish, "Hypoxia" is an evocative journey through the breath and sound waves that unite us, reclaiming a forgotten mode of lyrical expression. |
