Mendocino College Repertory Dance Company presents Light Matters, a captivating performance of original dance works contemplating light. Choreographers utilize artistic techniques of: Contemporary Classical Indian dance, Release technique, Contemporary, Line dancing, Film, Botoh and Performance Theater. November 22, 2024 @ Gala 6:30pm, Performance 7:30pm November 23, 2024 @ 7:30pm November 24, 2024 @ 2pm Under the direction of Eryn Schon-Brunner, dancers will bring to life new choreographic works by local and nationally esteemed choreographers: Paloma Rodriguez, Katherine Abbott Dowdney, Melany Katz, Christopher Campbell, Justine Alexia Lemosand Eryn Schon-Brunner. The performance will feature live music by Larsen Brunner, Cassius Mayhugh and Heidi Peterman. Costumes by Kathy Katz, and lights by Steve Deckers Technical theater students. Performances are November 21-24, in Mendocino College’s Center for Visual and Performing Theatre on the Ukiah Campus. Thursday November 21, 2024 Mendocino College Gallery teams up with the Repertory company holding the Opening Art Reception from 4:30-7pm, with the dance performance at 7pm. The Gala performance on Friday, November 22, 2024 begins at 6:30pm with food and wine generously donated by Frey Vineyards—show at 7:30pm, tickets $15 general and $10 student. Cash or Check only. The Sunday, November 24, 2024 show will begin at 2pm. Also, the Mendocino College CVPA Gallery will be open before the shows and during intermission for viewing the current exhibit.
