Country And Tejano Music Stars Headline Events At San Antonio Music Pavilion
There’s live music every weekend at the R&J Music Pavilion in San Antonio. Really good music. Sometimes, the entertainers are so popular nationwide that they have their own Wikipedia page.
Country music stars Wade Bowen, Cody Johnson, and Tracy Lawrence have all been headliners at the R&J Music Pavilion. Here’s a list of some of the concerts and events that have been held at the pavilion, which opened only four years ago. The list shows how unique the pavilion is. There aren’t too many concert venues that have hosted a deer contest, but R&J hosts on one every fall and winter. Hunters bring the deer they have killed to R&J and receive prizes for longest spike, heaviest doe, and heaviest buck.
The pavilion keeps bringing in crowds, though, because it has events constantly. Its Facebook page informs prospective guests about all of its Saturday night shows. The pavilion also serves excellent food, including a Thursday night Steak Dinner Special, and serves as the site of contests involving some of the area’s best restaurants. Events with great music AND great food are common.
R&J Music Pavilion has an exciting 2016 planned. Its first major event is a concert by Ramon Ayala, who has won many awards for his ability to play string instruments like the bajo sexto. He's also an accomplished singer and songwriter. He will be performing on Sunday, March 13 at 2 p.m. People can buy tickets to the event via the PurplePass website.
The R&J Music Pavilion is at 18086 Pleasanton Road in San Antonio.
